The purposes of this church are:

  • To bring glory, honor, and praise to God the Father and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • To edify the saints through sound Bible preaching, teaching, singing, and fellowship around the Word of God.
  • To evangelize the sinner through faithful witness, based on clear biblical principles.
  • To administer the ordinances of the local church as established in the New Testament—specifically, the Lord’s Supper and water baptism by immersion; and to provide a place of worship, fellowship, discipleship, and service for all born-again believers.

Glorious Day Baptist Church shall be:

  • An independent, sovereign, self-governing body of baptized believers,
  • Subject to the control of no outside ecclesiastical authority or organization,
  • Separatist in position, maintaining a clear and firm stance against all forms of modernism, liberalism, ecumenism, and unbiblical doctrine or practice.
  • Though unaffiliated, we will gladly recognize and fellowship with other churches of like faith and practice, in accordance with biblical fellowship and cooperation.

Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe, by the Holy Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour, and on the public profession of our faith, having been baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

We purpose, therefore, by the guidance of the Holy Spirit:

  • To walk together in Christian love;
  • To strive for the growth of this church in knowledge, holiness, service, and comfort;
  • To promote its prosperity and spirituality;
  • To attend its services faithfully and uphold its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines;
  • To give this church preeminence over all institutions of human origin;
  • To faithfully give of our time, talents, and resources for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the needs of the brethren, and the spread of the gospel to all nations through missions.

We also purpose:

  • To maintain personal and family devotions;
  • To train our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord;
  • To seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances;
  • To walk circumspectly in the world;
  • To be just in our dealings, faithful in our commitments, and exemplary in our conduct;
  • To avoid gossip, backbiting, and unrighteous anger;
  • To abstain from all worldly and fleshly practices that dishonor Christ, cause others to stumble, or hinder the gospel;
  • To be zealous in our witness for Christ and to give Him preeminence in all things.

We further purpose:

  • To encourage one another in the blessed hope of our Lord’s return;
  • To watch over one another in brotherly love;
  • To pray for one another, and to aid in sickness or distress;
  • To maintain Christian courtesy, being slow to take offense, always ready for reconciliation, mindful of the commandments of our Saviour.
