What We Believe About Salvation

At Glorious Day Baptist Church, we believe that salvation is the free gift of God, offered by His grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not earned by works, religion, or personal merit, but by trusting in the finished work of Christ on the cross.

1. Salvation Is Needed Because All Have Sinned

Every person is born a sinner by nature and by choice. We have all broken God’s law and fall short of His glory.
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:10 – “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”

2. The Penalty for Sin Is Death

Sin separates us from God, and the punishment is eternal death in Hell.
Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Revelation 20:14–15 – “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

3. Jesus Christ Paid the Price for Our Sin

Jesus, the sinless Son of God, willingly died on the cross, was buried, and rose again. He took the punishment we deserved and made the way for our salvation.
Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 – “Christ died for our sins… he was buried, and… he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

4. Salvation Is by Grace Through Faith Alone

We cannot earn salvation through good deeds or religious rituals. It is entirely by the grace of God and received by faith.
Ephesians 2:8–9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

5. You Must Personally Receive Jesus Christ

To be saved, a person must repent (turn from sin) and trust Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness and eternal life.
Acts 20:21 – “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 10:9–10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
6. Salvation Brings a New Life and Eternal Security

The moment a person is saved, they are made a new creature in Christ. Their sins are forgiven, they are born again, and they are eternally secure in God’s hands.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
John 10:28–29 – “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

If you have never trusted Christ as your personal Saviour, we urge you to do so today. Salvation is not a religion—it’s a relationship with Jesus Christ.
